Our History and Mission

Thanks for joining me! The Gardeners of Greater Akron (GOGA) is a non-profit club designed to promote gardening for educational, scientific, and charitable purposes established in September 1937. We seek to promote gardening as a desirable hobby for adults and youth, assist in the development of meaningful gardening skills, encourage beautification of the community through gardening and gardening related charitable work, to work with other organizations and people interested in our line of work, and to encourage qualified members to share their knowledge and skills.

We have programs currently running in several local school districts, Habitat for Humanity, and Crown Point. GOGA is a subdivision of the Gardeners of America. We are affiliated with the Men’s Garden Clubs of America, the Central Great Lakes Gardeners, and the Master Gardeners.

Please browse our site, learn about our work, and get involved today!
